Founder & CEO

Neil Mucci is a seasoned biotech executive with over 25 years of strategic, operational, and commercial experience in diagnostics and clinical research. He has a proven track record of building, scaling, and managing global clinical research operations to support regulatory submissions and successful product approvals for multinational biotechnology companies.

In 2008, Mr. Mucci founded Global BioClinical (GBC), a Seattle-based Clinical Research Organization (CRO) specializing in the planning, execution, and management of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) clinical trials. Under his leadership, GBC has supported U.S., European, and Asian biotech companies in the validation of diagnostic tests and platforms across a range of therapeutic areas. His project portfolio includes Epigenomics AG where as Head of Clinical Study Management, he oversaw pivotal studies leading to FDA clearance of the first blood-based diagnostic test for colorectal cancer; and at Curetis GmbH he led clinical studies for the validation of several multiplex PCR-based rapid pathogen and antibiotic susceptibility testing systems.

Prior to his tenure at Epigenomics, Mr. Mucci co-founded Asterand, Inc., a human tissue services company, where he served in multiple executive roles, including Director of Laboratory Operations, Director of Quality Assurance, and Director of Strategic Alliances. He was responsible for establishing and managing global biospecimen collection programs across more than 100 institutions in over 10 countries. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mucci directed the Prostate Cancer Tissue Core Facility at the University of Michigan’s Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Prostate Cancer. He has co-authored numerous scientific publications on tissue procurement, tissue microarrays, biomarker validation, and telepathology.
